Mahatama Buddha is the founder of Buddhism. Buddhism is one of the leading religion in the world. Budha gave the message of truth, peace, humanity, and equality. Budha was born in 563 B.C. in the Lumbini forests in Nepalese Terai. His childhood name was Sidhartha. His father Suddhodhana, was a ruler of Kapilvastu and the chief of Sakya Clan. He was married to a princess Yashodhara when he was 18 years old. From Yashodhara, he got a son, Rahul. Budha was a straightforward and honest person. He had a thoughtful bent of mind from childhood.
Once he was passing the road, he saw a sick person, an old man, and a dead man. This had a great impact on his mind. So, one night at the age of 29, he left his home quietly, leaving his wife, son, and all the royal comforts behind in search of peace and truth. He wandered everywhere and met many scholars and saints, but was not satisfied. Then he started meditation. After long hard meditation and suffering, he got enlightenment. At that time, he was 35 years old. He got this enlightenment under a pipal tree in Gaya where he used to meditate. This tree was later titled as Bodhi tree after the title of Sidhartha to Buddha. After that he started delivering sermons. He delivered his first sermon in Sarnath near Varanasi.

He got many disciples and some of them left him. He taught them that the root cause of our suffering was our desire. He told them that people could get rid of this suffering by following the Eightfold path: which is; right belief, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right memory, and right meditation. Buddha spent his 45 years by spreading his new faith. Buddha died in 483 B.C. in U.P.
